Somerset Nature Connections
This is an opportunity for parents and carers to connect with nature.
The Somerset Nature Connections project aims to tackle some of the barriers that prevent people from experiencing the health and wellbeing benefits of Somerset’s spectacular natural environment. The project aims to help people to access these natural spaces, with a focus on supporting mental wellbeing as well as some physical activity.
We offer a supportive environment in small groups of up to 10 participants. Our participants are facing many life challenges including anxiety, depression and grief.
Many comment that joining our programme gives them a chance to get away from life pressures and open up to the positive experience of life that nature connection brings.
Potential participants can self refer using the link provided, or be referred by other organisations.
Our project is offered free of charge to participants and, if needed, transport can also be provided free of charge.
Sessions take place on the following days/locations:
Tuesdays 10 am-2.30 pm – Quantocks AONB
Wednesdays 10 am-2.30 pm – Mendips AONB
Thursdays 10 am-2.30 pm – Blackdowns AONB
I am one of the Project Officers for Somerset Nature Connections. I believe that this is a wonderful opportunity to offer the many benefits that nature connection can bring, in a warm, welcoming and supportive group.
