Celebrating the October Experience Exchange Campaign
In recognition of Down Syndrome Awareness Month, Ups and Downs Southwest launched The October Experience Exchange to foster greater community awareness, provide unique experiences for young people with Down Syndrome, and encourage inclusive practices across our community. This year’s campaign offered personalised experiences that catered to each young person’s passions, including interactive music, archery, and a thrilling green screen adventure where our young people became on-screen heroes.
Somerset Film’s beautifully crafted three-minute film, now available on our website, captures these moments of pure joy, pride, and connection, showing the heart of the campaign. From honing new skills in archery to discovering the magic of performance, each young participant demonstrated incredible resilience and enthusiasm.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our young people who joined the journey and our Inspiration Guides, whose dedication pushed their boundaries to make these moments possible. The October Experience Exchange represents an opportunity for growth and a reminder of the profound capabilities of each child we support.
We are committed to making this an annual event to connect our young people to even more enriching experiences. Together, we can create lasting connections and break down barriers year after year.
