At Ups and Downs Southwest we are very pleased and proud to be able to celebrate the launch of our new website!
We have needed to update our website for some time now, but hope that with the help and skills of ‘James Britton’ we have managed to retain a welcoming online presence, which still includes so many positive images of our amazing children and young people.
There is a wealth of information to be found across the site both for new and existing parents as well as for professionals who would like to learn more. We hope everyone finds the site easy to navigate and we would welcome your feedback (as long as it’s nice! No seriously… we would really welcome your feedback)
For parents there are also really useful ‘template’ documents on our new site such as ‘example’ Statements of SEN so that parents have a better idea of what ‘a good one’ should look like and include and ‘example’ DLA forms for children from different age groups.
For professionals and parents there is plenty of downloadable information, advice, and guidance – and we hope that the site is user-friendly enough that these prove easy to find and access.
The website and face-book page are seen as our ‘face’ online and it’s very important to us that they reflect the friendly, welcoming and informal nature of our organisation. We are also crucially aware of how important it is to show the world just how amazing our children and young people are and to make sure we present lots of powerfully positive images. Our collection of ‘posters’ is part of our ongoing positive awareness campaign with which we seek to continue banishing outdated stereotypes and encouraging a brighter and more optimistic view of the possibilities for all our children.
