If you are a new parent tentatively looking for information to help you get your head around this huge diagnosis someone has just given your baby then you’ve come to the right place!
We are a parent led organisation which simply means that we have all been where you are now. We know what it feels like. You are amongst friends!
People vary enormously in their reaction to the news their baby has Down Syndrome but many of us found ourselves struggling with grief and despair in the first days and weeks.
Please give us a call and have a chat with someone who understands completely. Then maybe we can fix up a time to come and visit you at home or in hospital, give you the opportunity to ask all the questions you need to, show you lots of beautiful pictures of children who have Down Syndrome and let you know about the many and varied ways we are able to help and support you.
We are here for you, to encourage you and raise your expectations, to answer all your questions, and sometimes just to listen to all the things you need to say and work through.
We can introduce you to other new parents too, when you’re ready, and to other more experienced parents when that’s something you’d like to do.
Please click on the New Parents FAQ page to see the answers to the questions we are most frequently asked.
